CLYST St George 2nd XI took the lions share of the points from a winning draw at home to Yelverton and then sat back and basked in the glory of the news that the B Division 2nd XI bottom two had both lost and so the relegation avoidance mission is all but over, and in glorious fashion too!

Midway through the season Oz Besley's men had seemed in the fast lane to the C Division, but the second half of the campaign has been very fruitful for the Bohea Field men.

Steve May top scored with 86 in a home total of 237-8, answered by the visiting side with 169-8.

Two to play for Besley's men who head down the A38 expressway on Saturday for Ivybridge and then complete the season the following Saturday with a home game against Brixham.

Mathematically, 15 points from the two will ensure their safety, although with one team, and 26 points, between them and the bottom two, would suggest that the side are already safe.
