WITH the pace hotting up at the top of the Exmouth Snooker League, the lead is changing hands week by week.

Iain Callander 72-35, David Hawkes 75-47, Tim Wright 47-37, Dan Brown 66-38 and Dion Newcombe 75-61 have increased the margin at the top of the table to one of six points.

Second placed, Number Nine C came close to matching that maximum points win after Carl Rowsell 67-37, Kevin Parker 61-54, Mark Gibbings 94 (30,25)-29 and Gordon Benzie w/o were denied just that by Dan Tooze 79-46 at the Police Social Club A.

Otterton A share third with East Budleigh A as they left the Number Nine A with a narrow victory, winning by the odd frame in five.

After trailing Dave McWilliams 49-18 and David Tressider 54-29, Patrick Long 55-20 and Gary Parnell 44-41 set up the decider for Clive Parnell to clinch it 61-17.

Conservative A remain at the foot of the table despite recording their third victory of the season.

They lost two frames to Frank Kelsey 77-50 and John Spamer 59-57 of the Police B, before John Parrott 55-24, Mike Hayne 60-50 and John Anderson 54-34 served up wins to seal a much needed victory.
