In the Mens’ four wood championship Mike Killoran took an early ten-shot lead against Tony Gooding and booked his place in the second round with a 21-12 win.
Annie Clarke and John Dill playing in the mixed pairs won through 24-2 against Andy Skudder and Norman Upchurch, whilst Paul Griffin defeated David Roberts 16-9 in the two wood singles.
Mo Bond took the early initiative and won her first round-robin match against Melissa Camp in the Ladies two wood competition with a 16-7 win. Tony Lim proved too strong for Andy Skudder in the Mens’ two wood and moved through with an 18-8 victory.
Debutant Jackey Phillips faced consistent bowling from Gwen Hurst in the 106 competition and was always a threat but it was Gwen who held her nerve and took the match 108-79.
This weeks’ Triples League saw Team Oak defeat Team Willow 20-12, whilst Team Ash won 18-14 against Team Elm.
