AFTER nearly 30 years, Budleigh Salterton Croquet Club bid a fond farewell to one of its members.

Eileen Stobbs has been an active member of the club's Bridge Section for nearly three decades, but with a move to Sussex pending, members presented her with a gift and a specially designed card, which showed the clubhouse and bridge rooms.

Many members gathered for the presentation, which took place on Wednesday, May 27.

Eileen has been an active member of the section for nearly 30 years who still plays duplicate bridge 3 times a week.

A spokesman for the club said: "Soon after joining the club, she took on the organising of the stationery for the bridge sessions and remained a valuable member, welcoming new players with her friendly smile and gentleness. She will be greatly missed.
