Tennis fans are in for a treat when the chance to see world-ranked players - and stars of the future - come to Exmouth for the third annual $10,000 International Tennis Tournament.

Aspiring Roger Federers, Andy Roddicks and Tim Henmans will test their serves at the international event hosted at East Devon Tennis and Leisure Centre from Friday, March 28 to Saturday, April 5. Entry is free until the last day when the finals are being played.

Then there will be a £4 charge for adults and £2 for juniors.

The singles final will take place at 11am and the doubles final will be held at 2pm.

This year's event will combine classic high-octane action from the men's tournament with opportunities for all ages to test their skills each day in a series of tennis clinics and mini competitions.

Get in quick by calling Exmouth (01395) 223355 to register your interest.

Previous competitors at the event have included Jamie Murray, who went on to lift the Mixed Doubles trophy at Wimbledon in 2007.

Last year the singles semi-finalist and doubles champion from Exmouth's tournament, Aisam Quershi, from Pakistan, qualified and won his first round match at Wimbledon

"This is where you will spot the stars of tomorrow making their mark," said tournament director Jo Louis.

Throughout the tournament spectators will be able to watch all the action from the Tennis Centre's viewing gallery and café.

Hot and cold food, and refreshments, will be available daily throughout the tournament from the Tennis Centre's café.

"The tournament is a great showcase for tennis talent and we've got superb facilities here for players and spectators," said David Paggett, chief executive of Leisure East Devon, the charitable organisation that runs Exmouth Tennis & Leisure Centre.

"It's a credit to the skills and track record of the team in Exmouth that the centre has again been selected by the Lawn Tennis Association and International Tennis Federation to host the event.

"We want to welcome many local people to our centre to enjoy this world class event."

The eight-day tournament will not only serve up plenty of action for tennis fans, it will also deliver a boost to the local tourism economy as players and their coaches descend on Exmouth's hotels and bed-and-brealfast guest houses.
