Madeira staged the annual Croft Triples which was supported by a superb turnout of 36 players.

MADEIRA was a busy place last week with a liberal mix of matches and competitions, writes Ron Stares.

First up was the playing of the Croft Triples.

This is an annual club competition and the 2010 event was contested by a wonderful turnout of 36 members, who played across two sections with the section Winners ultimately contesting the grand final.

The winners in section one were Harry Cain, Keith Ewins and Brian Stowell, whilst section two was claimed by Peter Wells, Peter Harvey and Cliff Skinner.

The final was a close encounter with an extra end required to decide the winners.

It was the trio of Cain, Ewins and Stowell, who emerged victorious.
