Archant

The Budleigh men travelled to Culm Vale in their latest Exeter and District Over-60s League triples match and returned with a fine overall win on both rinks against an experienced opponent and in doing so moved themselves into the top half of the Division Two table, writes David Roberts.

On a red hot afternoon, the rink of Peter Hillman, Gerry Roberts and skip Andew Cardy, played well together, and, after registering five bowls on the ninth end, took control and went on to win 19-11.

Meanwhile, Brian Ward, Paul Griffin and David Roberts, looked unlikely winners at the halfway stage as they were trailing 14-5, but an inspired second half display with some great bowling saw them score 15 shots to their opponents four, and so won the game 20-18. If ever there was a match of two halves this was definitely it!
