The Budleigh men played their second match in the Sidmouth League against Lyme Regis, writes David Roberts.

Gerard McCarthy, Don Huish, Terry Escott and skip Leighton Burston had a great start and took a 12-2 lead and held their own for most of the match, but a strong finish by the opposition saw them lose out 18-26.

There was also a close match in the Budleigh Evening League that produced an overall 33-29 win for the Maderia Robins, and, in the first match of the season in the Budleigh Tuesday morning triples, there was a 21-15 win for Hilary Medley, Mike Clark and Lilian Grainger representing Team Willow.

Meanwhile, hearty thanks are due to Mo Bond for masterminding a delicious Harvest Supper and Raffle for over 30 members at the club on Friday evening. Thanks must also be afforded to all the help that was given by Lilian Grainger, Bunty Hudson, Dick Mitchell, Brian Evans, Anne Goddard and Annette Davies.
