Following her disappointment in the league a few days before, Tahla Williams came fighting back with a treble at Crediton United Ladies to take Budleigh Salterton Ladies to the DWFL League Cup Eastern Division Final.
The tense first period ended in a stalemate mainly due to goalkeeper Jordyn Ward’s fine performance, assisted by defenders Chloe Davies, Kayleigh Roberts, Kate Worsley and Jodie Millett.
With some tactical changes, the visitors began the second half more positively, but it was the hosts who broke the deadlock from a Chey Coakley free-kick.
Williams made sure the lead did not last long by equalizing soon afterwards. Substitute Ashleigh Cowan’s outstanding shift in the midfield signalled the opening of the flood gates.
Maisie Smith quickly followed in for the Robinettes second after Kirsty Brown shot was saved. Within another 14 minutes, Williams had completed her hat-trick, making it 4-1 to the Robinettes of Budleigh Salterton, ensuring passage to the Final.
