Budleigh ladies played three games in the Over-50s Triples League last week and banked 10 points across the matches, writes Joan Shaw.

First up, against Exonia, six points were gained from a very tight match that saw Budleigh winning on both rinks and overall by nine shots.

Mo Bond skipped her team of Ann Vincent and Melissa Camp to a one shot victory and Marilyn Jackson led Joan Cowing and Dianzee Lowe to win by eight shots.

The second game was again away, this time at Sidmouth where the team took four points.

Ann Vincent, Bunty Hudson and Joan Shaw lost their encounter by two shots (15-13), but the other triple of Marilyn Jackson (skip), Joan Cowing and Mo Bond, secured a five shot victory (16-11), which in all gave the Budleigh ladies a three shot success.

The third game was at Budleigh and seemed to underline the view that, for now, Budleigh ladies are playing better on opposition greens!

Visitors Chagford departed with all six points!

The Jubilee Trophy is once again being contested at Budleigh on Thursday (July 16).

This is a competition that sees invited teams from local clubs attend for a drive and area tea, the latter served by some of the male members of the club. We do so hope for good weather for this event.
