Budleigh Salterton Bowls Club have played their Foxland matches against Ottery St Mary but were unable to match their opponents in the familiar surroundings of their own green.

The home match for Budleigh was a closely-fought encounter, resulting in a win for Ottery of 24-20 and still all to play for in the return fixture. Unfortunately, Budleigh came up against an in-form team for the away leg at Ottery, who were the victors 41-7. This gave Ottery an overall win of 65-27.

Budleigh got back on the bowls bike with a trip to Feniton for a friendly Triples match. Despite the threat of rain, the 24 players enjoyed some very competitive games, with the team of Tony Gooding, Robin Grenyer and Ann Vincent securing the only victory for Budleigh. The overall score was a win for Fenton of 66-58 but a terrific day of bowls for both clubs.
