The amazing weather last week at Cricket Field Lane saw the Budleigh Bowlers playing out their finals in great conditions.
David Roberts retained his Club championship title against Andy Cardy in a thrilling 21-20 win and went on to also take the Two wood trophy.
Mo Bond was on top form to win the Ladies Championship and also the 106 competition with Penny Weeks finishing her Two Wood match strongly to win the title. Brian Goddard and Gwen Hurst played well together to take the mixed pairs title and Norman Upchurch found some consistent play to win the Novice Cup.
Congratulations to everyone and particularly to Hilary Medley for her attendance throughout the week and great organisational skills.
The Mens’ Pairs final will be played in the next few days as the Club looks to close the Outdoor rinks and reflect on a different but successful season. Thank you to the Bowls Committee for all their hard work.
Also at the club, Keith Ward, Chairman of the Budleigh Games Club presented Bowls Committee member Tony Mackness with the award for outstanding contribution to the club recognising Tony’s dedication to the U3A (University of the Third Age) initiative and recruitment for the club.
