Budleigh entertained two mixed rinks from the Isca Bowls Club and recorded the largest margin of victory seen in many years.

The home quartets, skipped by Captain Peter Burch and John Dill, were in unbeatable form, but discretion dictates the score is best not publicised.

However, the Club will supply this information to those of an inquisitive nature on receipt of a written request accompanied by £5 to cover administration costs!

Another two rink mixed friendly, this one at Padbrook Park, Cullompton, resulted in a second fine win for Budleigh by 48 shots to 25. Peter Burch with Lawrie Harries, Joan Cowing and Jim Letten were never headed and won by 17 shots while Graham Ellis’ side won by six.

In the Symes, Robinson and Lee evening league, Sidmouth, fresh from their recent notable win over Exonia, this week prevailed against the Budleigh Hawks whilst Sidmouth skips Mike Reader and Ron Cook guided their triples to an overall 14 shot victory

The Budleigh squad in the Exonia evening league are now joint top of the table thanks to their latest win.

Wally Nickels, Graham Ellis, Stuart Spencer and Peter Burch beat the Eagles comfortably 25-13.
