BUDLEIGH entertained Madeira men to a six rink Men’s Triples friendly but lost 96 -86, writes Paul Griffin.

Maderia won on three rinks, Budleigh on two and one rink was tied. The top performing home rink was skipped By Ron Tyler with Wally Nickels and Tony Dealler with a 24-15 victory.

A busy week on the greens was rounded off with a twelve rink mixed friendly against the touring side Braeside which Budleigh won 238-217.

In this match the Budleigh rink with the highest winning margin was skipped by John Vanstone with Pat Pearson, Gordon Smith and Terence Fitzgerald who led from start to finish in winning 29-9.
