Budleigh Salterton 2nd XI continued their fine form with a comfortable eight-wicket victory at Woodbury & Newton St Cyres CC in E Division East of the Devon Cricket League.
Leaders Budleigh produced a devastating bowling display to rip through their hosts, who were grateful to a ninth-wicket partnership of 52 that prevented a humiliating score.
Chris Battin was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4-19, as Woodbury found themselves languishing on 67-8, eventually creeping to a final total of 125 all out.
The Budleigh bowling was matched by their batsmen, with Marc Troman (60 no) and Neil Murrin (31) doing most of the work, as they reached their target within 35 overs.
The task should be a lot tougher this weekend, as Budleigh travel to second-placed Clyst St George in what could well become a title-decider.
