A terrific season for the Budleigh Salterton CC 2nd XI continued with a confident six-wicket victory at Bideford/Littleham/Westward Ho! CC.
Budleigh put their hosts into bat and Chris Battin and Alex James quickly removed the opening duo. Keith Berry (19) was trapped lbw by Joseph Marley, who was also got rid of Fionn Toland.
There was a partnership of 40 in the middle of the home side’s innings but their final total of 128 never looked enough. Marley was the leading bowler with 3-14.
In reply, Budleigh survived the early loss of Steve Booth for a duck, as his opening partner, Marc Troman, swaggered his way to a composed 67 not out from 105 balls.
Harvey Shipton (21) and Len Russell (11) played their part until Neil Murrin joined the imperious Troman to score an unbeaten 18, as Budleigh ran out comfortable winners.
