Brown prepares for Powder Byrne Junior Final

At the tender age of 13, Budleigh based Isabella Brown continued to make great strides on the tennis court against youngsters much older than herself!
BUDLEIGH Salterton’s Isabella Brown has been making headlines on the tennis court again.
The 13-year old, who is the reigning Devon County under-16 champion, has made her way through to the under-16s final of the 2010 Powder Byrne Junior Tennis Tournament.
The Powder Byrne Junior Tennis Trophy is a National Junior knock-out Tournament Open to players from across the UK.
The 2010 tournament began in May and culminates with the finals this weekend in London.
As the number four seed Isabella, trained by Derek Blackmore at LED’s Exmouth tennis centre, beat Harriet Blacker from Wiltshire 6-0, 6-1 at the end of the summer to set up a quarter final in September against the number five seed Sezan Walker from Middlesex who she defeated 7-6 6-2.
Only a semi-final encounter with Atlanta Wright of Kent stood in the way of a visit to the LTA’s National Tennis Centre in Roehampton, and, last month Brown won this match 7-5 6-1.
Isabella is now preparing for the final this weekend at the tennis home of Andy Murray and Laura Robson where she is invited to take part in a professional tennis coaching clinic after her finals match.
