As their first season of football draws to a close, Brixington Blues U7's entered their first competitive tournament in Tiverton.
Brixington played five group matches, winning all of them! Good footwork and finishing from Alfie Butler, Sonny West and Theo Mapp ensured easy passage to the knockout stages, whilst Joe Northway, Issac Pond, Charlie Spurrier and Rocco Hill put on a masterclass in defending and playing out from the back.
Further wins set up a showdown with WBB in the final and Brixington showed no fear, taking an early lead through Theo Mapp and Sonny West added another to make the score 2-0. Mapp added another to his tally before WBB scored from a speculative shot. However, before the final whistle, West added one more goal to give a final score line of 4-1 to Brixington.
Coach Scott Mapp couldn't contain his excitement as the final whistle blew and was seen ‘sprinting’ on to the pitch to celebrate.
