THE Exmouth Bridge Club raises a fantastic sum of money at last week’s fund raising event, writes Carla Pickering.

The club staged the second eCats Simultaneous Pairs and Chairman Brian Hughes was able to announce that this years total of £536.93 was almost three times the total raised twelve months ago!

What helped boost the total significantly was all the addiiton fund raising from sales of cakes and the ’money jar’.

The eCats for 2010 saw 2037 players from across the country take part.

The best performance in the club on a national basis was that of Michael Trapnell and Tony Hart who achieved 60 per cent and were placed 133rd nationally.

Phil Palmer and Jennifer Flood scored 58.44 per cent to take 240th position whilst Brian and Shelagh Hughes with 58.20 per cent for 258th and Audrey and David Sprague gained 56.05 per cent for 412th place nationally.
