EXE Ladies' 2nd XI produced an outstanding display in their final outing before the Christmas festivities begin and registered a resounding 9-1 win.Pre-match Exe skipper Emma Pike had championed a mantra of turn over and transfer and Kate Drysdale took the captain at her word countless times, seizing possession and moving it on, particularly to Vikki Ritchie on the flank, and she in turn was then able to continually threaten the Lansdown circle with accurately driven crosses. The opening score came on 15 minutes when Drysdale intercepted a hit out, played a neat one-two with Robyn Walton, and fired home. Two further goals followed before Lansdown got one back, but Exe netted again to go in 4-1 up.The half time discussion in the Exe dressing room focussed on the need to keep the temp going and resist the temptation to consider the task completed and again the team responded in grand style, rattling in another five goals as both Claire Thomas and Jess Brooker helped themselves to hat-tricks. The other goals came from Kate Drysdale, Vikki Ritchie and Pip Massey. The Exe Ladies' 4ths entertained and beat Isca Dragons 3rds 4-1 with Sarah Bennett marking her annual appearance for the side with yet another hat-trick. Bennett opened the scoring as early as the second minute and this served to settle a much changed team and they began to pass the ball around positively, preventing the visitors from getting into the game. However, the domination didn't get the ball into the D to create scoring chances and Isca started to fight back although, thanks to some decisive tackles by Gemma Norman and Rachel Hall, it meant that often those Isca raids were quickly turned into counter attacks by Exe. The dominant Angie Balding did well to create the chance for Bennet to double the lead prior to half time. The third Exe goal was an exhibition of one touch hockey. A quick Jenny Mitchell free hit in the Exe half was well passed by Balding to Bennett and then on to Louise Capel who picked it up and coolly slotted home.Bennett completed the scoring before Isca got a deserved late consolation. In other Exe club matches the Ladies Vs went down 4-1 at Isca Dragons IV whilst the men's teams had a share of the spoils and a loss in meetings with Dawlish teams. The 1st XI drew 3-3 at home and the 2nd XI lost 3-1 at Dawlish.
