Former Exmouth Community College student Ben Lane has been selected in the Team GB Badminton squad for the Tokyo Olympics.
Ben will play in the doubles with partner Sean Vendy, with the pair qualifying by virtue of their impressive performances on the Badminton World Tour, where they became the first British pair to reach the semi-finals of a global tour event.
He studied at Exmouth Community College for a BTEC Sport while also training at a national level.
Lane started playing badminton at the age of just nine and in his junior career, he had won the U-17 European Championships in the boys' and mixed doubles event in 2014. Ben also won two silvers and a bronze medal at the 2015 European Junior Championships.
He also won mixed team bronze at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Congratulations Ben.
