Baxter Williams impresses at Lincolnshire drag racing meeting

Otterton-based young drag racing ace Baxter Williams and his father Gary drove 300 miles to Lincolnshire for their latest taste of early season drag racing.
The two-day event was held in perfect – and dry – conditions.
Young Baxter qualified for the elimination rounds which were held on the Sunday.
His father Gary said: “His best time was 19.44, which was a fraction off the pace. Sunday’s eliminations saw Baxter going head-to-head with all other competitors in his class.
“He won his rounds by 1.7 seconds, which saw him into the final against his friend Levi; a tense 20 minute wait while Levi’s bike was fixed and the heat was on!
“Unfortunately, Baxter pre-empted the lights and moved 100th of a second too quick, so he picked up a red flag and that left him having to settle for a second place finish!”
Gary continued: “However, that does represent a truly superb effort to have worked so hard and to get so far on his ‘BIG Pauls’ sponsored Aprilla RS4 machine.”
Racing returns to a local stage at the end of the month with an April 28 meeting being staged at Smeatharpe, near Honiton.
