Ball set to defend Fairway title

EXMOUTH Swimming and Life Saving Society will hold their annual Fairway swim this Sunday (June 7).

EXMOUTH Swimming and Life Saving Society will hold their annual Fairway swim this Sunday (June 7). The race will start on Exmouth sea front at 12.15 as close to the marina as possible.Caroline Ball, the winner of the race for the last two years, returns, having received a call up to swim for Great Britain later in the year. It is one of the strongest line-ups yet for the swim with a field that includes a handful of channel swimmers including Olly White, Mark Westaway, and Jenny Potter all from Exmouth. The field also includes last year's men's winner Darren Corden.Olly White, Ross Szender and Ian Lang swim in the men's freestyle event for Exmouth, Mark Westaway competes in the breaststroke event and Ball, Tara Dudley and Jenny Potter will race the women's freestyle over the 4 and a half mile course. The race begins and finishes on Exmouth Sea front with the first home expected in 1hr 40 minutes.
