Jonty Wright continued his return to competitive badminton with gold in the doubles at the Devon Bronze under-19s’ tournament at the Torbay Leisure Centre.
The Exmouth Visions player linked-up with former partner Zak Linley-Moss to get through the pool stages to reach the final against a duo from Hampshire.
Wright and Linley-Moss won their first game convincingly then had a battle in the second before clinching the gold.
Competitive badminton has only resumed recently having been badly disrupted by the Covid pandemic.
It was a notable win for Wright, who has now won titles in every Badminton England junior age category.
Wright’s promising return to competition this season has included wins with the Devon under-18 squad and on debut in the senior circuit alongside brother Morgan in doubles competition.
