Chris Murrin clocked up yet another marathon (his 86th) on Sunday, June 27 when he raced in the North Devon AONB Marathon.
In wonderful surroundings, Chris produced yet another fine performance, finishing in 31st position with a marvellous time of 4 hours 48 minutes 28 seconds.
The stunning multi-terrain route lived up to its reputation of being as beautiful as it is tough. The start and finish was in Woolacombe, right in the middle of the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (where the race gets its 'AONB' name from).
The route initially took a coastal route from Woolacombe through Croyde Bay and then went inland via Ossaborough. It was so hilly that it was officially classified as a Fell Race.
Founded in 2012, the event raises over £30,000 each year for the North Devon Hospice.
