Exe first team were worthy 3-1 winners when they entertained Clifton II in a Premier Division One match.

Both teams started strongly in what had been billed as a ‘close encounter’. Exe scored first with good work by Kelly Barrett who slipped the ball to Kat Harris and she applied a polished finish.

Not long after Laura Allen added a second with a reverse-stick shot to leave Exe 2-0 up at the interval.

Clifton came out hard after the break putting Exe on the back foot, but strong defence including excellent play by Emma White and Sarah Payne kept them out. Allen scored Exe’s third before Clifton finally got a well-earned goal to ensure a hard fought match to the end.
