Madeira’s Indoor Season finished in style with both a quiz, organised by the Club Chairman Dave Moody, and a Club cruise along the Exe Estuary organised by the Indoor Captains and Vice-captains, Penny Preece, Graham Cottey, Glynis Byrn and Mike Norman.

The outdoor greens are looking most inviting and last Saturday they were open for members to come along and have a roll-up before the President’s Opening Match on April 27 and a visit by Bowls Devon Ladies on May 1.

Meanwhile, the Club’s newly qualified coach, Chris Reed, has been working with several new bowlers indoors; making sure their technique is correct before taking them outside for further coaching and to adjust to the different challenges that outdoor bowls poses.

The Club’s Open Day will be on May 29 to coincide with Bowls England’s Bowls Big Weekend an initiative to raise awareness of the opportunities the sport of bowls offers.
