The Deaf Academy on Douglas Avenue is inviting residents to get your trainers on and join them for a fundraising run.
It takes place along Exmouth seafront on Thursday September 19 at 7pm. It is being organised by the Exmouth Harriers, this event will help raise money for a much-needed puffin road crossing outside the Deaf Academy on Douglas Avenue.
A spokesman said: "This will ensure our Deaf students have a safe place to cross, as well as be a great asset for the wider local community."
Runners should meet outside the Deaf Academy’s campus for 7pm, for a 7.10pm start. The run will start and finish at the Academy. It will be a maximum of 5k and will suit all paces and levels of ability.
Donations will be collected at the start, or supporters can donate online via the Deaf Academy’s JustGiving page https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/puffincrossing. They have currently raised more than £,3,000 out of their £5,000 target.
Exmouth Harriers will lead and support this event throughout its duration, however runners will be participating at their own risk.
