As the Exmouth Snooker League approaches the climax to the 2024 season, Police Social Club ‘A’ hold a lead of three points with two matches to play.

After Carl Rowsell 75-66 and Mike Delahaye 81-48 led potential wooden spoonists, Police ‘B’, they lost to David Binmore 79-68, Dave Thomas 67-46 and Phil Rowsell 53-43.

They returned to winning ways after Steve Spinner 64-51, George Webster 83-57 and Carl Rowsell 86-50 beat potential contenders, Police ‘D’, who kept the losing deficit to a single point from Iain Callander 70-46 and Dan Brown 82-42.

In a strong position for second place are Police ‘C’, despite losing to East Budleigh ‘A’. John Parrott 78-54 and Bob Alexander 54-46 saw Bert Savage 59-47, Harry Savage 63-53 and Mervyn Long 80-68 leave with the win.

East Budleigh ‘A’ recorded the same winning score from the visit of the Police ‘B’. Bert Savage 83-73 and Harry Savage 40-17 were taken to five frames by Dave Thomas 66-64 and Bob Horton 58-35, before Mark Auton used all his experience to win on a re-spotted black 75-68. With only one match to complete their season, they are unlikely to finish higher than fourth in the table.
