Budleigh Bowls Club hosted an Indoors Mixed Triples match against six players from Honiton, writes captain Tony Mackness.
On Rink 1, the Budleigh team of Martin Creed, Jackey Phillips and John Sheppard got off to a flying start and at the halfway point of 9 Ends were leading by 9 shots with the score at 13-5.
On Rink 2, the Budleigh trio of Ann Vincent, Ted Shanahn and Tony Mackness were up against a strong Honiton team led by Jan Richardson, and at the halfway stage the match was halved at only 6 Shots each.
Following a break for refreshments, the Budleigh teams managed to move ahead, securing victories on both Rinks, with an overall score after 18 Ends of 32-23.
Jan Richardon - the Honiton Skip – commented: "Despite the result, we thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Budleigh and are looking forward to playing against Tony and his colleagues when they come to Honiton in March."
