It was an evening of glittering prizes at Wiscombe Park recently, as over one hundred guests of the Chichester family gathered for the Awards Evening - the social highlight of the Wiscombe calendar.

After speeches from Wiscombe Ltd Chairman, Colin Pook, and MD, Peter Isaac, the top six drivers in the Wiscombe Park Tillicoultry Quarries Championship received their cups and salvers. These were presented by Wiscombe Ltd Director, Maddy Raynor.

This year’s Champion is Taunton MC member, Paul Reynolds with last year’s Champion, Ian Ingleheart, finishing runner up. Ed Hollier of Woolbridge MC, was third.

The award for the Club of The Year was won by the Five Clubs - the Award was presented to representative, Peter Locke, Plymouth Motor Club Director.

Downton MC's Kieran Stevens was named as Young Driver of the Year - Kieran has put in some great performances at Wiscombe this season - his first year in the sport. He is no doubt a talent that will progress through the speed hillclimb ranks.

There was a special award presented by Peter Isaac to Steve Wareham - this was in recognition of Steve's work as a Wiscombe volunteer - helping to maintain the venue in tip top condition - no easy task!

Dave Pearce also announced the winners of the Marshals Draw - the winning tickets were drawn by Wiscombe competitor, and Draw donor, Adrian Lewis. The first three tickets drawn were for cash prizes, with another ten tickets drawn for a variety of other prizes. This included a very special prize - a lunch for four people hosted by Motorsport UK Chairman, David Richards CBE.

After the Awards, the guests enjoyed a magnificent buffet.

Wiscombe Park are already looking forward to their 2024 season and next year’s calendar has been released – the season gets underway on April 27 and 28, 2024 with the Woolbridge Spring meeting. For all the latest news, please visit the web site www.wiscombepark.co.uk and Facebook page.
