East Budleigh knocked out of Devon Senior Cup by Hatherleigh

This cup tie saw East Budleigh start really well, but saw Hatherleigh run out winners with a superior second half display.

Budleigh were ahead in three minutes; Louis Adey with the left foot finish after Rian and Toby Hill combined.

Midway through the half Budleigh had their second; Guy Laverock and Toby Hill played a good one-two to win a corner from which Jack Howarth struck the perfect kick directly in to the net.

Five minutes later the away side pulled a goal back, but still had the better of it but lacked the finish in the final third as half-time came.

Hatherleigh raised their game as conditions worsened and were level on 65 minutes.

Things got worse for Budleigh as Rian Hill and Adam Wilkinson picked up injuries leaving the visitors to take charge in the last 15 minutes and win the tie.

Budleigh will look to bounce back on Saturday in the league at Dawlish. East Budleigh Reserves are in league action at Alphington.
