It was Finals weekend at Budleigh Salterton Bowls Club, and Rosemary Carter won both the 2 Wood and the 4 Wood Championship games, beating Melissa Camp and Penny Weeks. In the 106 competition, Penny was victorious over Marilyn Foreman.
In the Men's Novice Cup, two recent joiners played for the honours, with Terry Flynn claiming victory over Paul Davis. David Roberts played in 5 Finals and his first win was in the Open Pairs, when David and Peter Cooper took the honours against Robin Grenyer and Norman Upchurch. David also won the 4 Wood Open Championship, claiming a victory over Melissa Camp.
David came-up against Andy Cardy in two of the Men's Finals, with Andy winning the 2 Wood competition by a narrow margin and David winning the Men's Championship. Later in the day, David teamed up with Tony Gooding to play against Peter Cooper and Norman Upchurch in the Men's Pairs final. Peter and Norman were the winners.
