New players are being invited to join Withycombe Rugby Club’s Colts squad.
The team has enjoyed a number of success stories over the years with two of its current team members playing for Devon RFU’s U18s team, one achieving a place at an England Rugby Camp and five playing for the Exeter Chiefs Rugby Academy at Exeter College. Last season the team won half of its 14 matches.
Colts squads are for teenagers aged 16-18 years old.
Rick Libbey, Director of Rugby at the club, said: “Traditionally, clubs everywhere find it hard to retain their Colts members for the full two years due to the range of other commitments teenagers have. Our Colts are so important to us because they’re integral to the growth of the club.”
Training is on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6.30pm with matches on Saturdays. Anyone interested in playing with the Colts should email Rick on ricklibbey1@btinternet.com.
