Exmouth twins Archie and Alfie Luxton (15) both finished top four in the world at the Glabal Kitesurfing Academy U16’s freestyle event in Spain. Archie was third and Alfie fourth.

Mum Ruth Luxton said: “The event was such a wonderful experience for our whole family. We got to meet some like-minded families from all over the world.

“Alfie and Archie have made friends with other teenagers from Egypt, Germany, Italy, Spain and Australia. Our boys are the only two representing the UK at the moment in the world events.”

Alfie and Archie kiting for Slingshot international started their first day of the competition by winning all of their heats, getting them through to the semi-finals against two professionals in the men’s circuit.

Unfortunately, neither twin won in the semi-finals, so they ended up having to compete against each other. After this very tense heat, Archie had just got slightly higher points to Alfie, which left Alfie in fourth and Archie getting the podium again in third place.

Ruth added: “Their dad and caddy Terry and I are so very proud, even their little sister Amelie was cheering them on all the way.”
