Exmouth Town FC Veterans continued their excellent 2023 with a 3-0 away win over a dogged Kentisbeare side.
A cagey first half resulted in few chances, with the game 0-0 at half time.
Town started brightly in the second half and got off the mark when golden boot candidate Sam Schlaefli scored his 16th and 17th goals of the season. Silky winger Adam Turner became the creative focal point for Town, and his expansive range of passing and dynamic dribbling created havoc in the Kentisbeare back line. Turner was rewarded with a goal following a sharp finish.
Town continued to press for a fourth, but a late Adam Bond effort was ruled out, with the referee having adjudged Schlaefli to have fouled the Kentisbeare goalkeeper. The defence earned another well-deserved clean sheet.
The next game for Exmouth Town FC veterans will be a huge local derby against Exmouth County Veterans on Sunday, May 7.
