Exeter City’s Under-18s Lead Coach, Tom Donati, acknowledged his players were rather lethargic in their 3-0 defeat to Forest Green Rovers U18s at the Cliff Hill Training Ground last week.

“It was a tough one” admitted Donati, before adding, “It was a very slow and lacklustre performance, and we came in with a game plan but didn’t stick to it. When they scored their first two goals, we were in control, but lost control of what we were trying to do.”

After 15 minutes, Rovers moved the ball down their left, before one pass into the centre opened up a shooting chance. The resulting effort curled past goalkeeper Harry Lee to break the deadlock.

A little later, FGR struck again as they made the most of some below-par defending and increased their cushion with half an hour remaining.

City will be hoping to bounce back after Easter when they face Leyton Orient U18s.
