A young football fan from Exmouth had her enthusiasm for the sport elevated to a new level after an appearance as mascot for Exeter City Women’s captain Manfy Sharpe.
Ten-year-old Amelie, who attends Marpool Primary School, has always been a big football fan and a regular player in her school’s lunchtime club.
As part of the club, she has been invited to play in a local schools tournament, but sadly did not have the required boots to play on grass.
Amelie’s Mother Laura helped Amelie to contact Manfy to see if there was an opportunity within the Women’s team to borrow some boots.
The City captain was all too happy to help and offered Amelie some of her own ‘lucky’ boots for her first competitive game of football.
The generous offer has inspired Amelie to continue her football dreams, which included leading out the City women in a recent fixture.
