A number of Exmouth Harriers joined the Exmouth Belles for a trip to the Cyprus sunshine, taking in the Paphos Half Marathon on an almost flat, fast course along the Mediterranean sea.

The start and finish was in front of the historic Paphos Castle. Results: Louise Hempstead 1.48.02; Amanda McCann 2.02.04; Kay Douglas 2.02.10; Susan Hill 2.02.11; Jane MacDonald 2.20.51.

In the Winding Paths Grand Canal Canter Marathon in Tiverton, Chris Murrin ran in his 111th Marathon in a flat event on the paths alongside the Grand Western Canal at Tiverton.

The course started at Tiverton Canal Basin and headed along the canal paths for 6.6 miles to Sampford Peverell to a turnaround point, where it headed back to Tiverton and the marathon runners repeated the course a second time. Chris finished fifth in 3.58.02.

Tom Packer raced in the testing and hilly Humdinger Half Marathon run over the Quantock Hills. With a total ascent of over 1100ft, it is probably one of the toughest road races in Somerset. It’s tough but on a clear day there are rewarding views of the County one way and the Bristol Channel and South Wales the other. Tom’s time was an excellent 1.40.06.
