As part of her London Marathon preparation, Hannah Bown travelled 110 miles east along the South Coast to Southampton to take part in their Half Marathon on Sunday.

The 13.1 miles consisted of six laps of an undulating 2.2 mile course on the footpaths around Southampton Common. Hannah excelled throughout the race, finishing in 1.31.55 in 19th place out of the 280 finishers overall and she was the 1st finisher in the W45 age category.

Piers Benton and Tom Packer travelled a bit further for their race on the same day, both taking part in the Alicante Half Marathon. 

It was a hilly route on a scenic course along the waterfront from Alicante to Albufereta and back with a loop around Alicante town to the finish beside the marina. Piers finished in 1.26.46 in 48th place overall and Tom wasn’t far behind in 1.28.51 in 70th place, there were 980 finishers overall.
