Topsham Town secured just their third win of the Devon Football League season after a gritty 2-0 success at Feniton on Saturday.

Jesse Howe and Sam Clarke gave Topsham the perfect start with two early goals, and it was then a story of defensive discipline and all-round resilience, as the visitors successfully repelled the Fenny efforts to find a way back into the game.

Topsham can move into the relative security of mid-table with a win at home to Thorverton this weekend but it will be far from easy against a side that sprung a big surprise by winning 4-2 at Appledore on Saturday.

Leaders Beer Albion dropped their first points of the season, as they lost 1-0 at home to University of Exeter. Budleigh Salterton are three points behind in second after they beat bottom club Fremington. It is all to play for over the next three months in the DFL.
