Withycombe took local bragging rights with a 15-0 win over Exmouth 2nds, while the 2nds enjoyed a 21-0 victory against Topsham 3rds.

A packed Raleigh Park enjoyed a reunion of past players before kick-off and they were soon celebrating a well-struck penalty from Tom Cooke.

The Withies defended stoutly to repel a decent period from Exmouth and the first try arrived on the stroke of half-time, when a line-out close to the Exmouth line was driven over for Dave Richards to score.

The second half followed on in much the similar fashion with some great rugby being played but, slowly, Withy, despite now playing uphill, started to gain the momentum.

Withy were causing all sorts of problems for the Quins defence and eventually, with the number of infringements building against them, the referee headed towards the posts to award Withies the penalty try and victory was confirmed.
