A sensational finish from Exeter City secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over a powerful Peterborough United in Sky Bet League One.
City led through Tim Dieng but were then trailing 2-1 with five minutes to go. Sam Nombe equalised from close range and a brilliant win was sealed when Jevani Brown curled in a beautiful strike in the dying seconds.
The Academy side suffered a reverse in similar circumstances to the first-team success. In a thrilling game, the young Grecians went down 4-3 against Bristol City to end their involvement in the Under-18 Professional Development League Cup.
Following the game, ECFC’s Head of Coaching, Brad-Lee Miller, admitted he felt for his players after such a positive performance. “I’m gutted for the lads, and we have just ended up falling short in terms of the result. It is a real shame because the approach from the players was good.”
