On a bright Sunday morning, Exmouth U12's travelled away to Crediton and found their hosts in resilient mood through the early stages.
Crediton gradually took a foot-hold in the game and some quick hands saw a break away try scored by the Crediton winger.
Exmouth heads did not drop. The team rallied well with good work at the ruck on Crediton's five-metre line. Quick thinking by scrum half Ollie Harradine and even quicker hands by James Curtis saw the ball with Channing Cozens, who used his strength to get over the line for Exmouth and bring the scores level going into the half time break.
Exmouth started the second half with much more grit and determination, dominating the breakdown and continually ripping any Crediton possession back into Exmouth hands. James Curtis handed off a number of opposition players to break through the Crediton line, touch down and give Exmouth a well-deserved lead.
From the restart, Riley West chased and ripped the ball from the receiving Credition player and broke through for another Exmouth try. Oscar Randle then added his first try of the season with a quick break.
Crediton scored a late consolation to end the match, Crediton 10 Exmouth 20.
