Exeter City were left licking their wounds after a tough weekend for both the senior and Academy sides.
Hosting Oxford United in Sky Bet League One, the Grecians, who are still seeking a permanent replacement for departed boss Mat Taylor, endured a brutal opening 54 minutes, as they fell 4-0 behind.
Jevani Brown and Sonny Cox did provide some late consolation but still a difficult loss for City, who host Fleetwood Town this weekend.
The Under-18s also suffered a painful defeat, going down 5-0 at Devon rivals Plymouth Argyle in the EFL Youth Alliance. The Grecians did have a number of key players missing and the Pilgrims grabbed the lead when Caleb Roberts pounced on a loose ball to score.
Argyle soon doubled their advantage and the young Grecians were 3-0 down by the half-time interval. City conceded two further goals after the break on a day to forget.
