Exeter City’s Academy Operations & Performance Manager, Arran Pugh, believes that, despite losing to Swansea City, the performance from the club's youth side in the second period of their Under-18 Professional Development League Cup fixture with Swansea City U18s provided him and his coaching staff with lots of positive moments.

“Full credit has to go to the boys for their display after half-time,” said Pugh, “The players carried out the gameplan and were better overall in possession.”

Ian Morgan’s low finish and Geoff Bony’s quick-fire brace for the hosts punished a sloppy opening half from the Devonians.

Wing-back, Mitch Beardmore, pulled one back for the Grecians, however, Rohan Davies re-established the Welsh club’s three-goal cushion moments later.

George Spencer scored an Exeter second with 18 minutes remaining, however, the visitors were unable to net another, meaning everything is still all to play for as just a solitary point separates themselves, Swansea and Bristol City at the top of Group E.
