Budleigh Bowls Club got their season of Indoor friendly matches underway with a visit to Dawlish,
The Budleigh team of Nick Jones, Ann Vincent and Mo Bond got off to a cracking start and were leading 6-2 before Dawlish fought back for an 8-6 advantage at halfway. A team talk by Skip Mo Bond did the trick, as Budleigh ran out 21-14 winners.
On the adjoining rink, Mike Clark, Jackey Phillip and Melissa Camp were ahead at half time by 11-7, having scored an impressive five shots on the fourth End. This time, it was Dawlish who benefitted from the break, and they went on to a comfortable win 25-14. The overall result was a win for Dawlish 39-35.
Mo Bond, Budleigh’s captain for the day, said: “We always enjoy our visits to Dawlish, and we look forward to the return game later in the season, when we hope to reverse the result.”
