The Woodbury Park seniors played the first of five stableford games forming the Winter Eclectic with two divisions of 15 and 17 players, writes Carole Pye.

John Man (40) was the winner of the first division followed by David Hathaway on 33.

Returning a card of 39 gave Doug Budgen the second division ahead of Terry Tilbury on 34.

Steve Jarman, with an excellent 43, won the midweek stableford competition, just ahead of Don Hayes on 42.

The Acorns men’s friendly team visited Exminster for their final match of the season.

The Woodbury team found the unfamiliar course challenging, but the match and the company very enjoyable.

The format for the weekend competition was a Texas Scramble played in teams of four.

The winning team with 53 net was Andrew Hirst, Alex Freer, Dave Cooling and Scott Howarth.

The runners-up, scoring 54.9, were Steve Tombs, Steven Robb, Paul Ritchie and Steve Newman.
