With the departure of Dave Fairweather to Okehampton, the chairman of Lympstone Football Club, George Webster, has announced the appointment of joint-managers Drew Worthington and James Beverly.
“I’d like to thank Dave Fairweather for his hard work and dedication over a very difficult two-year period and I’d like to wish him every success on his new venture,” said Webster.
“James and Drew will take over with immediate effect.”
While Lympstone are currently second from bottom in Division 1 of the Devon and Exeter League, pre-Christmas performances will bring some belief to the group and encouraging signs for the new management team.
After breaking the duck with a 2-0 win over Chard Town Reserves, goals from Richard Higham (2), Lewis Masters, Billy Phillips and Tom Rowsell secured a 5-0 trouncing of Halwill.
Weather permitting, the new managers will begin their reign with a trip to mid-table University of Exeter 3rds on Saturday.
