The fabulous Budleigh runners came out in force to run the Walter Raleigh half-marathon organised by Climb South West.
The course, starting in Budleigh, meandered through muddy paths to East Budleigh, on to Bicton, towards Otterton and then the steep climb to the trig point at High Peak. It was then just a case of following the coastal path past Ladram Bay with a vast amount of slipping and sliding all the way back to Budleigh and the downhill finish for cake and medals.
Well done to coach Alex for being the first club runner home. The support and encouragement of all the runners made it a run to remember. The club ethos of a pace for everyone shone brightly, as did the cheering from our support crews at the finish.
The club’s Couch to 5K programme starts again in May, so look out for further details. Visit www.Budleighrunners.co.uk or email budleighrunners@gmail.com
